Chris Shivers
Chris Shivers has been rewriting bull riding history
since he turned professional six years ago. The 2000 PBR World Champion
captured his second world champion title at the 2003 PBR Built Ford
Tough World Finals and pocketed the first ever $1 million bonus paid
to a PBR world champion. In addition to earning his second world
champion's buckle, Chris once again finished the season with the
most 90-point rides in a season (9 in 2003).
Other history making achievements by Chris include: the first PBR
bull rider to win more than $300,000 in prize money in one year (1998);
the first PBR bull rider to reach the $1 million mark, which he achieved
in 2001; the first PBR bull rider to register 13 90-point rides in
one season (1998); the highest marked ride in PBR history (a 96.5
point ride); and the first bull rider to win three consecutive Bud
Light Cup events (2000).
Chris's athletic
ability and positive attitude has captured the hearts of PBR fans
around the country as well as the attention of national media.
Chris has appeared on several national television shows including
The Best Damn Sports Show, The Today Show and Last Call with Carson
Daly as well as been featured as a member of the Rolling Stone
Magazine's Sports Hall of Fame and was the subject of articles
in national publications such as Newsweek and Esquire magazines
